With her highly successful R&B and pop tracks, such as ‘Distrubia’ and ‘Umbrella’, Rihanna has sold over 12 million albums in four years. Rated R will be the first album of Rihanna’s to have a parental warning, which gives the album’s ‘Rated R’ name more poignancy.
She’s got an angrier side expressed in the album with Ne-Yo, a major producer and co-writer, saying Rated R will be “something a little darker, something a little edgier, something a little more morbid.”
The album also pulls in stars like Justin Timberlake in ‘Cold Case Love’ (shaking fists at Chris Brown), and will-i-am with ‘Photographs’ (an acoustic guitar and heavy bass beats). She’s got a lot to say, and a newer, grittier attitude toward it all.
