It was the tunes of Travis that inspired Amy Macdonald to buy a guitar and learn how to play at age 13. Her demo CD caused scepticism when New Musical Express’ Pete Wilkinson suggested someone else wrote her tunes. Realising it was all her, Macdonald’s debut album ‘This Is the Life’ became UK’s #1 album and sold 3 million copies. She’s played at Glastonbury, Hyde Park Calling and the V Festival to name a few, and she hasn’t stopped.
Now with her second album out, Amy has put her old notes to good use, bringing to life ideas she had back in her days of becoming a musical artist, along with the circus of celebrity. Her powerful vocals behind tracks like "Don't Tell Me That It's Over" are reminiscent of The Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan, and her lyrics portray wisdom rarely seen from a 22-year-old.
